Sauna

The Finnish-style sauna at Bormio Terme, constructed - as tradition will have it – in wood is characterised by a temperature of between 85-100°C, with a relative humidity of between 10 to 30%.
Despite the extremes of heat, thanks to perspiration the skin never exceeds a temperature of 42° (46°is the pain threshold) whilst the internal body temperature increases by a maximum o 1°C.
The recommended stay is between 10-15 minutes, moving from the lowest benches up to the highest.
Slow, gradual movement is recommended always, as in: stretched out – to seated – to standing.
At the end of a session, shower, and sink into a tub of cold spring water.
Entry is restricted to adults.
