Ever since it opened in 1920 Bormio Terme has represented a Spa complex dedicated to thermal cures. At the very heart of each treatment are the thermal waters themselves; earthy, and combining sulphates, bicarbonates, alkalines emanating from the mountain itself at temperatures of between 37° and 40°C. Within Bormio Terme visitors can enjoy treatment either through affiliation to the Italian Health Service (the Spa is classified at the very highest level by the Ministry) or through private practice.

The health-giving thermal waters at Bormio Terme are adopted for:

• inhalation treatments
• balneotherapy
• bathing and mud therapies
• physiotherapy and rehabilitation in thermal waters
• cardiovascular circuit

All thermal treatments whether private or through the Heath Service system must be booked in advance. The only exception to this are the inhalation treatments.
