At Bormio Terme the classified treatments are as follows:
-    Complete mud therapy with Thermal Bath
-    Thermal Baths
-    Inhalation –aerosol
To take advantage of the classified treatments patients should present their prescription for the Terme’s acceptance along with referral issued by personal doctor, GP, or specialist
Following this presentation of medical documentation, except in exempted cases, the patient will be required to pay the standard ‘ticket’ for all Thermal treatments
The ticket includes a compulsory check-up with the admission doctor in order to establish fitness and suitability of thermal treatments on an individual basis, and is tied in with a course of treatments over a period of 12 days
In order to assist the Bormio Terme medical staff in making their assessment during the acceptance examination, it is useful for patients to make available any previous medical recommendations, such as diagnostic exams undertaken or specialist checks, particularly those within the previous 90 days. It is especially recommended in the case of mud and balneotherapy treatments that patients undergo an electrocardiograph screening prior.
The programme of 12 days of thermal treatment must be effected within a 60 day period.
The medical referral must indicate:
    the pathology
    the type of thermal treatment requested
Naturally the accuracy of the detail within the medical directive is of primary importance in the choice of ensuing treatments undertaken.
Below follows a list of treatable conditions at Bormio Terme within the terms of the classifications already outlined and the relating course of treatment advised.
One of the following conditions must be indicated within the patient’s medical referral:
rhinitis in all its variants, rhinitis vasomotor, chronic rhinitis in catarrhal, atrophic, allergic, purulent form, simple catarrhal, hyper-trophic, perennial, secretive.  (INHALATION TREATMENT RECOMMENDED)
chronic pharyngitis, chronic laryngitis, relapsing tonsillitis, nasal pharyngitis with adenoidal condition, chronic adenoids, cordite in all its variants, chronic laryngitis, adenoid-tonsil hypertrophy.  (INHALATION TREATMENT RECOMMENDED

sinusitis both chronic and allergic, pan-sinusitis, sinusitis in all variants, rhino-sinusitis, relapsing chronic sinusitis, hyper-plastic sinusitis.  (INHALATION TREATMENT RECOMMENDED)
Chronic bronchial-rhino-sinusitis syndrome, rhino/sinus/bronchial syndrome, chronic rhino/sinus/bronchial syndrome, chronic rhino-bronchial syndrome, chronic sinus/bronchial syndrome.  (INHALATION TREATMENT RECOMMENDED)
Bronchitis in all its variants: Chronic bronchitis, BPCO, chronic bronchitis caused by irritable agents or dusts, hyper-secretive chronic bronchitis, relapsing chronic bronchitis, emphysematic chronic bronchitis, asthma based or spastic chronic bronchitis, chronic asthma based, chronic catarrhal bronchitis, bronchopathy asthma-based or spastic or in chronic obstructive form, plus the full range of bronchial conditions asthma-based or spastic (non specific) and neither showing signs of serious insufficiency in respiration nor in phase of becoming more acute.  (INHALATION TREATMENT RECOMMENDED)
Osteoarthritis, advanced arthritis, arthritis of cervix, loin, limbs; discopathy without herniation or syntamotology by irritation or nervous compression; a resulting condition after operations to correct discal hernia, cervicalgia due to rheumatics; humeral scapular periarthritis (except in acute form), arthrosis in all its variants (with osteoporosis either advanced or local) outcome of articular rheumatism, osteoporosis and other degenerative forms – periarthritis – variants of spondylitis.  (MUD AND BALNEOTHERAPY RECOMMENDED)
rheumatism, extra-articular, inflammatory rheumatism (in dormant phase); fibrosis caused by rheumatism, tendinitis caused by rheumatism, lower back pain resulting from rheumatics, fibrositis, etc  (MUD AND BALNEOTHERAPY RECOMMENDED)

The reservation office will be in touch with acceptance within two days of your request.
Advisory note on thermal treatment:
Thermal treatments cannot be carried out should the condition be in an acute phase or if the contributory conditions cannot be compensated by use of pharmacology.
